Dr. Heeman Kim is the Asian Studies Coordinator, and an associate professor in the School of Communication and Media at Kennesaw State University. He is teaching Communication Research, Digital Media Production, and Media Studies Capstone. He has continued to create an interactive environment through the incorporation of interesting material and perspectives that strive to not only deliver knowledge but to also motivate students beyond the boundaries of the classroom. His research is closely related to his teaching and includes the cultural and social uses of electronic media. Current research examines the cultural uses of Social Media with an emphasis on the U.S. and Asian contexts. He presented his research at major communication conferences and published several articles in communication journals. He is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media (JOBEM). Dr. Kim also serves as an affiliated faculty member in the Asian Studies program. He is pleased to talk with students and colleagues about media-related topics and research interests.

Dr. Kim holds the Ph.D. in Mass Media & Communication from Temple University, an M.A. in Media Studies from Northern Illinois University, and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Incheon.
