Steven Cooper is a former broadcast journalist. He worked at various network affiliates across the country, including the CBS station in Orlando, Florida, and the ABC station in Phoenix, Arizona. As an investigative reporter, Cooper won multiple Emmy Awards, a national Edward R. Murrow Award, and several honors from the Associated Press.

Cooper is also a novelist. He most recently launched a new crime/mystery series with the publication of Desert Remains in October 2017 (Seventh Street Books, an imprint of Prometheus). His articles and blogs about writing can be found in The Strand Magazine, The Big Thrill, Career Authors, Campaign for the American Reader, and Jungle Red.

Cooper has also worked in corporate communications for a Fortune 100 company, a position that sent him around the globe curating content for the company’s various internal and external news platforms. He previously taught writing at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.

Cooper earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Brandeis University. He received his master’s from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
