Lindsey J. Hand has been teaching at the college level since 2009. Before pursuing a full-time career in academia, she worked in the field of technical writing and editing. Her research focus is primarily on health communication and media with an emphasis on stigmatized health conditions and public health issues. She primarily teaches courses in media studies and research methods.
Lindsey holds a master’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies from University of Nevada-Las Vegas and a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from Kennesaw State University. She is currently working on her Ph.D. in communication at Georgia State University. She is an active member of the International Communication Association, National Communication Association, and Southern States Communication Association.
