Profile

Research:
Dr. Wertz's primary research interests are in health, risk, crisis, and cultural communication. Her research has been presented at regional, national and international conferences including Southern States Communication Association, Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, National Communication Association, and International Communication Association. Wertz's published work can be found in the Journal of Communication Management and Public Relations Review.

Professional experience:
Wertz has nine years of public relations and marketing experience working for both non-profit and for-profit organizations primarily in the health care industry.
