Dr. Chuck Aust is a professor in his 21st year teaching in the School of Communication and Media at Kennesaw State University. His career in higher education spans 28 years of full-time teaching in mass communication. Special areas of interest in teaching and research are media effects, media literacy, communication theory, using media to grieve, and effective teaching methods in the classroom.
Prior to becoming a professor, Dr. Aust did public relations work in the non-profit sector, as well as news writing and photography.
Prior to his academic career, Dr. Aust was a child abuse caseworker (3 years) and a drug and alcohol abuse prevention/education specialist (2 years). Hobbies: biking, camping, playing the drums. Born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
