Amy Floyd is a part-time faculty member in the School of Communication and Media Studies teaching Visual Communication. Floyd taught high school Audio-Video Technology & Film in the Atlanta area for ten years and currently teaches English at East Paulding High School.

She started her career in television and production more than 20 years ago at a local ABC affiliate in Memphis, Tennessee. While working her way up through the various jobs in the newsroom and studio, eventually becoming a weekend news producer, Floyd graduated from the University of Memphis with a B.A. in Journalism concentrating in Broadcast News. She later returned to the U of M, online, and earned an M.A. in Journalism with a focus in Public Relations. Floyd also has worked in other areas of media production as a voice-over talent, a radio personality, and a freelance writer for various print and web publications.
